A major point was that it was only tenure based, not salary or title based.


It was not a dividend, it was a gift. I think if you had given everyone a gift of $1,000 for every year that they had worked there everybody would have been very, very happy indeed. But then I expect upper management and partners would have groused about how they were worth more. But that sort of bonus is not about "worth" but about appreciation.
